Mr. William “Fats” Woodrow King, was born on March 24, 1935 to the late Hershell King, Sr. and Ella Emmaline Peoples.  He passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017, age of 82, at his residence in Newnan, Georgia.

Mr. King was enlisted in the US Army December 31, 1959.  Shortly after, on November 20, 1964, he married Stella Louise Rucker.  Mr. King was baptized into Christ at Mt. View Church of Christ by Bro. Charlie Carter, Sr.  He drove trucks for 43 years.  He loved to go fishing and enjoyed working on cars with his favorite nephew, George Kelly.

He was preceded in death by father, Hershell King, Sr.; mother, Ella Emmaline Peoples; two sisters, Helen Lee Marie King and Sarah Bell; four brothers, Hershell King, Jr., Ernest King, Albert King and Don King.

Mr. King is survived by his wife of 54 years, Stella Louise King; one daughter, Kala King; two sons, Kachatte N. King and Rashad King; two sisters, Pauline Davis and Cassie Mae McFarland; one brother, Walter (Mai) King; devoted granddaughter, Misa Roselyna King; three grandchildren; along with many other relatives and friends.

  2. I WILL NEVER FORGET “fats” He was always the same no matter when or where you saw him. I remember him as a gentle and loving person who loved his wife and family. He always wanted the best for them, if it was within his power he would get it for them. You will always be in my memory cousin -in-law.
