Mr. George Clarence Pickney, III, 56, of Chicago, Illinois & Shelbyville, Tennessee, departed this earthly life to eternity on January 18, 2018 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Per the family’s request Mr. Pickney was cremated.

George was a native of Chicago but loved southern living. George served as an altar boy at Holy Cross Catholic School until transferring and graduating from Hyde Park High School in Chicago, Illinois.  Before his health declined, Peanut was an avid truck driver and back alley auto mechanic.

He was the son of the late George C. and Velma (Stackhouse) Pickney, II. George was also preceded in death by his brother, Earl Trice and best friend/father-in-law Mr. Robert O. Leslie.

George leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Rose M. Leslie; his children, George C. Pickney, IV, Tymekey’a D. Pickney of Shelbyville, Tennessee and Teaquicia L. Ward of Bolingbrook, Illinois; mother-in-law, Odessa Leslie of Shelbyville, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Vivon and Teakierah Ward of Bolingbrook, Illinois, Aiden and Amarie Overcast and Jayden Comer of Shelbyville, Tennessee, brother, Steve Trice of Chicago Illinois; special friends, Jeanetta (JJ) Woodruff, Clinton & JT Cunningham, Rodney the mechanic, Greg Washington, Arthur Trollinger, Jack, Debra, Emily and Kevin Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.

Martavious Dayquion Roper, a.k.a Head, was born on July 5, 1997 at MTMC Murfreesboro, TN to Frederica Roper and Jerry Marable.  He departed from this life on January 8, 2018 at 10:30 am.

Martavious graduated on May 19, 2016; what a proud day it was for all of us.

Martavious was preceded in death by three grandparents, Maggie Roper, Ella Sue Marable and Jerry Nelson.

Martavious leaves behind a very devoted mother, Frederica Roper; a very loving and devoted father, Jerry Nelson; a very loving and devoted stepdad, Cordell Robertson, all of Murfreesboro, TN; four loving sisters, Kendrica Martin, Dalila, a.k.a. Lele, Robertson, Lajerria Marable and Cedrica Nelson; three loving brothers, Marquion Roper, Kendell Martin and Daylen Nelson; one niece, Remy D. Deacon Charles (Charlie) Edward Richardson, Sr. was born May 22, 1953 in Rutherford County to Joe T. Richardson and Laura Richardson.  He transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on January 4, 2018.

He professed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined Silver Springs Missionary Baptist Church where he continued to worship until his death.  He served as a faithful deacon, member of the choir and male chorus.

Charlie served in the Army for a full term and was honorably discharged in 1976.  He worked diligently for Cumberland Swan and the Veterans Administration for most of his work life. He loved his family, music and his Dallas Cowboys.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe T. and Laura Richardson; brother, Joe T. Richardson, II. 

He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife, Dianne; sons, Shaun (Amy) Richardson, Charles Jr “Chucky” Richardson and Chris (Lacreksha) Martin; sisters, Grace Muse, Lorreanne (Larry) Daniels and Betty Richardson; brother, Carl (Bonnie) Richardson; sister-in-law, Michelle (William) Kelly; brother-in-law, Ted Johnson; uncle, Charlie (Lorene) Richardson; aunt, Edith Richardson; eight grandchildren, Jalen, CJ, Ryann, Kaylee, Brenivye, KJ, Amari and Ja’Markus; one great-granddaughter, Kyra; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Gladys Wilkerson Malone was born on July 22, 1944.  She entered peacefully into rest at St. Thomas Hospital, Murfreesboro, on January 26, 2017.

She was born the third child to the late Jim Haley and Mary Ella Malone.  She was educated in the Rutherford City School System.

Gladys professed and accepted Christ at an early age at Hickory Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Charlie Hope.  She was a Mother on the Mother Board. She retired from Mayfield Rehab Center. She loved fishing, cooking and caring for children.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Lee Wilkerson; one brother, Jim Haley Malone, Jr.; and one sister, Gracie Mai Sanders.

Gladys leaves to cherish her memory, three sons, Randall (Mitzi) Malone, Theo Starks and Rachie Wilkerson; four grandchildren, Randall (Stephanie) Malone, Jr., Paige (Kecee) Malone, Ra’mareia and Amarionna; six great grandchildren, Amyiah, Alayla, Kortez, Queen, Keeley and Kash; aunts, Evelyn Walton and Anna Mae Gregory; six sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; four nieces; five nephews; a devoted niece Gloria Sanders; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
